Kedarkantha (not to be confused with the popular Temple Kedarnath) is a 6-day long trek in Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in Uttarakhand (6 when including the travel days from Dehradun to the base camp and back). 

Kedarkantha is considered one of the most popular and beautiful trek in Uttarakhand, India. Today Kedarkantha is the topmost trek of Uttarakhand Himalayas. The beauty of which people keep seeing, Kedarkantha Trek is a classic winter trek. The trek provides a great opportunity for trekkers to see the scenic beauty and experience the life of remote villages of Garhwal Himalayas.

Kedarkantha trek lies in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It starts from a small but busy village of Sour – Sankri which is in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary national park. If you visit it once, then no doubt you will definitely visit here again. The charm is the most beautiful thing about this place. Certainly, many of the trekkers feel like Sankri is their second home.

Which makes this trek more beautiful? , so the local people worship here on July 15 every year. Here Shiva and Ganesha are worshiped, which is spoken in the local language by Meru Bagwan!

II.III (6300 meters), Black Peak (6387 meters), Banddarpunch Peak (6300 meters) and all the mountains are seen from here like Rupin range, Supin range, Khimloga Peak, Baraadsar Lake range, Vishkhopri range, Ranglana Peak 5800 meters, etc
